With deepest sympathy to you and your family. Betty and Vern would visit our Wilton Dinners and I always looked forward to visiting such positive people! Betty is at peace in Heaven, but she'll always be a part of us on earth. God Bless all of the family. Betty was an icon of what being a good person is all about!

Without My Grandma I would cease to be who I am today. She was a remarkable woman and a role model for everyone. A staple of Iowa City, encompassing the values and morals that Iowa and the Midwest are known for, compassion, hard work, faith, family, and friends. She will be missed but more like treasured.

Tom,
Your mom always made a point of saying hello to us and asking about our families. She was an old friend of both our mothers which was always a source of conversation that we all enjoyed. She was a lovely lady and we will miss her very much.

Thanks to all for all of the kind thoughts, love and support. We loved our mother dearly and will miss her tremendously. Even though she suffered alot in her final years, she always made time for others. We know she is in a better place now and we will forever carry her in our hearts.
If anyone would like to share some funny Betty stories I would love to hear them. Again, thanks for your kind thoughts. I wish you all peace.

Please extend my sympathy to all of the family. Betty was a very caring person and was always ready to asist you at Mercy when you or your family were a patient. I also have fond memories of her as an old neighbor in the Morse area. She was a great example of making the best of a situation. Peace to her and all of her family.

TO VERN AND THE KAEFRING KIDS AND ALL THE FAMILY, BETTY WAS A SPECIAL PERSON AND WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED BY THE QUINLAN FAMILY. MY FATHER 'JD' AND BETTY WERE BORN A WEEK APART AND HE ALWAYS REMINDERED HER THAT SHE WAS OLDER THAN HIM. I DON'T THINK THAT THERE WAS EVER A TIME THAT WHEN I RAN INTO HER AT AN EVENT, THAT WE DIDN'T GIVE EACH OTHER A HARD TIME. SHE WAS SO GREAT TO BANTER BACK AND FORTH WITH. MY WIFE, FAITH , AND I ARE SO PROUD TO BE LIVING ON THE 'KAEFRING FARM' NORTH OF OASIS. WE WERE SO HAPPY THAT BETTY AND THE KIDS WERE ABLE TO VISIT OUR PLACE LAST FALL. YOU ARE ALL WELCOME ANYTIME YOU WANT TO COME VISIT AND SEE THE FARM. THANK YOU BETTY FOR EVERYTHING!

Tom and Family,
I am very sorry for the loss of your mother. She was such a cute, fun and entergetic lady. I had the opportunity to do church and club/ organiaation activities with her when I was still in the Iowa City area. I am sure that she was just as charming at this wonderful age of 86. I am sure tht she is have some great chats, right now.

Betty will always be remembered as a friendly face and pleasant coversation when ever met. She never seemed to miss a visitaion or church event.
I first remember her at St. Peters in Cosgrove at mass with her children after Henry's passing. I remember her visiting with mom and dad after mass. I knew her as aunt of Paul and Ivan Kaferings children.
I am sorry we will be unable to visit and pay our respects in person.
