It is nearly a year since Alice's passing. I think of her often and miss her so much. I will always remember her sense of humor and her love of a good time with her friends and am grateful for all the great times I spent with her. Dear Bernie, Johnny, Bobby and Laura,
It was so sad to hear about Alice's passing. I remember fondly many happy days spent with her on Kings Ridge Rd. Her kitchen was always a welcoming place. I remember that Easter Sunday when Bobby was born, and we were enlisted to watch Johnny. I remember meeting her and Bernie in the Wallmart in Pa.-- it was good to connect again. Alice was a bright and chearful person, who loved you all. I remember her concern about your welfare and her chearful face. My love to you all.

Dear Bernie and Family,
I've only known Alice a few months, but I always looked forward to seeing her and Bernie. I remember the first time I cleaned for Alice because she was almost in tears from being happy. Bernie, John, Bob, Laura and Lorraine.... It is so difficult to try to find words that may comfort you at this time. Alice was a dear friend and I will always hold her close in my heart. She was special- a friend to everyone, a competitive game-player, someone who could debate any side of an issue, the person who could brighten any situation. Some of my fondest childhood memories include the entire Holzapfel family. Camping at the Yoggie Bear and Point Sabago, fantastic breakfasts, etc. Mrs. H wore a smile at all times and made the world a better place for countless people. Bernie, Laura, Robert, John & Lorraine,
I am heartbroken over Alice's passing. We had so much fun together at our Saturday Silver Springs concerts, our weekly card games, and countless days at the Lynnhaven pool talking about everything happening in our lives. Her favorite topic was "the love of her life", Bernie and her children that she was so proud of. I loved her phone calls to me when I went back home to New York every Spring. As a newcomer to The Villages, and a frequent visitor to The Lynnhaven Pool, I was just beginning to know your Alice. I enjoyed her quick wit and admired her determination to live her life as fully as possible, even in the midst of all her medical concerns. To Bernie, Laura, Robert, John and Lorraine. I am saddened by Alice's passing. She was a wonderful person and one of our Pool Buddies. I loved Alice because she was a real person and had the best sense of humor even when she was sick. I loved it when she used to wear thousands of dollars worth of gold jewelery in the pool because she understood that you have to enjoy every day and enjoy the things you have. It was little things that made Alice happy and I will always be thankful that she was in my life. She will be missed but not forgotten.
