Obituary of Robert Jackson

Robert G. Jackson, D.V.M., 77, passed away suddenly on March 7, 2010 in Ocala, Fl. Dr. Jackson was born in Chicago, IL. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Robert was a graduate of the University of Illinois with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and American Association of Bovine Practitioners. Dr. Jackson was the founder and a co-owner of Veterinary Associates in Lancaster, Wisconsin. He retired and moved to Ocala, Fl. in 2000. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, VFW #4781 and Knights of Columbus. Dr. Jackson is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Julie Jackson of Ocala; four sons, Gregory R. Jackson (Peggy) of Loyal, WI; David E. Jackson of Toronto, Canada; Mark W. Jackson (Hilary) of Glasgow, Scotland; Jeffrey M. Jackson (Ismenia) of East Greenwich, RI; and nine grandchildren. He is further survived by one sister, Virginia Hopp of Dundee, IL and one brother, Michael Jackson (Sylvia) of Williamsburg, VA. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 8:30 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, SR 200, Ocala with Father Patrick J. O'Doherty officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 10, 2010 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley TimberRidge, 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala. A Committal Service will be Friday, March 12, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fl. with Military Honors provided by Angela Santos Post 4781 of Ocala.
