Obituary of Raymond Joseph Yard

RAYMOND JOSEPH YARD was born on the 4th of July 1939. He passed away peacefully September 15th, on his terms at home surrounded by those who loved him. He had an illustrious live. He joined the Marines at the age of 17 years old and by the age of 19 he started to work for Pan American Airlines. He then moved from New York to Georgia - then Florida and retired from Delta Airlines in 2001. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Gloria, who stood by his side everyday for 18 months during his illness. He is survived by his 3 children Lisa (Roger), Joseph and Jennifer Yard. He also leaves 3 grandchildren - Josh, Jeremiah and Lacey Moore and two beautiful great-granddaughters Alyssa and Mayzie. Raymond also raised two step-children - Anthony Zrillo and Susan Ware. He was grandpa to their 7 children - Seth, Josiah, Callie, Micah, Lauren, Samantha and Anthony Jr. Raymond was the middle child of 8 and is survived by 2 sisters - Joan and Betty and 4 brothers - Bill (Lynn), Edward (Jeannie), Richard (Helen) and Tommy (Edna). Raymond was a very special uncle to his numerous nephews and nieces and their children. Raymond was a strong and talented man with many trades. His wit and his spirit will live on in his extended family and those friends who knew him best. He had a strong work ethic and was a good provider.
