Obituary of Henry John Parker

Parker, Henry (Hank) 75, of The Villages, Florida entered into heaven on September 24, 2010. He was originally from Pittsburgh, PA. He is survived by his loving wife, Eileen Joy, and his five daughters: Suzan Turney and husband Joe of Downingtown, PA, Jean Heacox and husband George of Olney, MD, Kathleen Fawcett and husband David of Oakmont, PA, Maryann Parker of Pittsburgh, PA, Linda Camp and husband Chris of Oviedo, FL; and grandchildren, Joe, Alyssa, and Michael Turney, Lindsey and Kelly Heacox, Heather and Parker Trow, Alecia and Matthew Camp. Hank was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. While in Pittsburgh, he worked for Sommerfeld Machine, where he was promoted to a vice-president position. In 1967, he was hired at Westinghouse Electric in Procurement, and soon after promoted to Procurement Manager. In 1985, he moved to Cincinnati, OH and was employed as a Project Procurement Manager at Rust Engineering. While working for Rust, he was transferred to Pelham Alabama and Princeton, NJ. In 2001 he retired to the Villages, Florida. In 1956 Hank became of member of the United States Naval Reserve and served for several years. While in Cincinnati he was active with the Small Business Association. In 1995, he was commissioned an Honorary Alabama Colonel for his voluntary services for people with special needs. Hank was a member of St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church. In his spare time he enjoyed golf, bocce ball, and playing poker with his friends. Henry will be remembered for his amazing wit, his sense of humor, and his profound loyalty to his wife, family and friends, who will all miss him dearly. Family and friends will be received at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, The Villages on Monday September 27, from 5 to 7 P.M. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 28 at 1 P.M. at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 1351 Paige Place, Lady Lake, FL.
