Obituary of Robert Swearingen

THE VILLAGES — Robert Kenton "Bob" Swearingen, Sr., 70, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010. Mr. Swearingen was born in Richwood, W.Va., and moved to The Villages in 2004 from Chuckey, Tenn.; he was an Army veteran and a mechanical engineer; he enjoyed golf and loved cooking. Survivors include his wife Susanne; his sons, Kent, Keith, Kris and Kurt, stepchildren, Deborah, Stephen and Lori, two sisters, Janet and Barbara, and a brother, Van; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Committal service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Maitland Office, 1101 North Lake Destiny Road, Suite 415, Maitland, FL 32751. Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
