William "Bill" Edgar Booth
Age 77, of Ocala went to be with the Lord on October 6, 2010 at Sylvia's Hospice House of Marion County. He was born on January 6, 1933 in East Liverpool, Ohio to Edgar Booth and Hilda Nicklin Booth.
He attended Kent State University, and then served four years in the US Air Force. He moved to Florida in 1956 and retired from the Florida Department of Corrections after 35 years of service. During those 35 years, he served as a Regional Director and a warden in several state prisons.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend to so many people. He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Eve Campbell Booth; son, Doug Booth and wife, Robin of Ocala; daughter, Denise Farrell and husband, Scott of Atlanta; grandchildren, Aubrey, William, Austin, Andrew, and Hunter; sister, Barbara Veness and husband Don and family; sister-in-law, Judy Murphy and family; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, woodworking, gospel music, and grandchildren.
He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him.
The family will receive visitors at their church, Grace Presbyterian (2255 SE 38th St, Ocala, FL 34480), October 11, 2010 at 10:AM and the memorial service will follow at 11:AM with Pastors Carl Brannan, and Keith Ledford officiating.
