Mrs. Booth and family:
Not sure if you will remember me, as I meet Mr. Booth when he was Warden at Lowell CI and I worked in the Business Office. In 1984 he was transferred to Tomoka CI as Warden and I was promoted shorty after as his Secretary. After he retired, I had the pleasure of running into him at a couple FCCD events. I am still working at Tomoka and have had numerous bosses since; however, he was certainly one of my favorites. He was very easy going and a kind, and I enjoyed working with him.
My condolences, and please know that he will live on in the hearts of all he knew.

To: Mrs. Booth and Family
Margaret and I worked for Mr. Booth for several years. After our retirement from the Department of Correction, we came to know him on more of a social level when he started a Retiree's Luncheon. Allthough he didn't want it that way , he was still Mr Booth.
To Mrs. Booth and family, we all loved , respected and admired Bill Booth. He was a True Gentleman and he will be missed.

I know Mr. Booth from working at Tomoka CI so many years ago when he was the Superintendent/Warden. I always called him Mr. Booth, even at social gatherings just because. Another one of the great mentors in my earlier life. He taught me that you could lead without bullying, be compassionate, but not weak and that a sense of humor would take you further than a trip around the world. He was quite the prankster, and made me laugh uncountless times. He would get that look in those eyes and you knew something happened, or was about to happen! Eve would buy Avon from me and there was Mr. Booth, carrying the Avon bag through the compound to take home to her. What a sport! The last time I saw Mr. Booth was years ago at a Tomoka reunion in Daytona Beach. He was retired already and enjoying life to the hilt. To the Booth family, I send my condolences and thanks that I was allowed to have someone as special as Mr. Booth come into my life. May his soul be as full of life up above as it was here on earth.

If ever I have learned the lesson that one should not put off visiting a dear and old friend, especially one who is ill, this is the case. I had the opportunity to see my good friend, old boss; fishing buddy and one I knew always that I could go to, and failed to do so. The years we spent together in both a very close working and friend relationship will be treasured always....I can smell the mullet we cleaned one night until midnight and the joke we jointly pulled on the maintenance staff at Tomoka...the NO SMOKING sign Mr. Booth glued to my office wall and the 3' live alligator he tossed into my arms one night....my hand carved wooden duck and so many other wonderful memories from this wonderful Christian man. This is the man who taught me by example and words the full meaning of the "care" in custody and care……something that follows me to this day. Thanks boss, I know well that I am a better person having known you so well. Ron McAndrew
