Obituary of Linda Tessier

THE VILLAGES -Tessier, Linda, 62, died October 27, 2011. Mrs. Tessier was born in Plainfield, New Jersey and was of the Catholic faith. She graduated from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) in 1971 with a BA in Elementary Education, got married and taught 6th grade in Hillsborough, NJ until her focus shifted to raising her three children. In 1979, she moved to Audubon, PA and began working intermittently at H&R Block, where she held many positions including tax preparer, office manager, instructor and was eventually certified as an enrolled agent by the IRS. From 1982 -1985, she was an active participant in the Valley Forge League of Women Voters, serving one year as president. In 1984, she helped found the Lower Providence Community Library and served on the Board of Directors. She was a member of Springford Country Club and played on the women's golf team. She was also a member of a bridge group for 27 years. In 2009, she moved to The Villages. She was an enthusiastic volunteer for The Villages AARP tax aide program. She was a member of the Mystery Writers Book Club, the Computer Club, and AWOL- Amelia Women of Leisure. She particularly enjoyed hosting biweekly driveway parties for her neighbors and friends. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed travelling with family and friends, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Tom Tessier, The Villages, FL; daughters, Michelle Tessier, Arlington, MA and Christine (David) Bernardino, Randolph, NJ; son, Michael (Elissa) Tessier, Cheshire, CT; brothers, Randall Feltman, Paso Robles, CA; Robert Feltman, Jacksonville, FL; and four grandchildren, Stella, Madeleine, Andrew and Abigail. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lower Providence Community Library (Eagleville, PA), or St. Theresa's Soup Kitchen and Social Services (Belleview, FL).
