Howard Edward Curtis
Mr. Curtis, 81, passed away at his home, Tuesday, November 1, 2011. Edward was born in Burlington, New Jersey, January, 5, 1930.
He attended Burlington Public Schools and graduated from Burlington High School in 1947, joined the United States Army and later the Reserve. After completing active duty he attended the University of the Arts and LaSalle College Evening School in Philadelphia.
Ed was employed at Merck and Wyeth Laboratories in various packaging functions and retired as Director of Package Design and Development from Wyeth Laboratories in 1987. During his career he served on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Packaging Institute and the National Drug and Pharmaceutical Committee of the Packaging Institute.
During his life he enjoyed skiing, sailing, fishing, golf and his many friends in New Jersey, Florida, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.
Mr. Curtis was preceded in death by his first wife Helen Vanderveer Curtis; sisters, Sara Lippincott, Alberta Carter and Jeanne Bowers. The latter raised him after the premature death of his parents.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Nancy Wilson Curtis.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11 am at White Marsh Memorial Park Chapel, 1169 Limekiln Pkie, Ambler, PA.
