Obituary of Carol McCraide Brown
Carol McCradie Brown, 89, passed away into the arms of our Lord Jesus on September 13, 2022, at home in Weirsdale, Fl.
She was the loving wife of the late Richard N. Brown, together again in Heaven, and Mother to four loving sons.
Born on July 1st, 1933, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Raymond S. and Kathleen Jacobs McCradie, and sister to the late Blythe McCradie Link, of North Carolina.
She grew up in Chicago Heights, Illinois, helping out in her father's home based hospital taking care of many delivered babies as a young girl.
Happy that she was once tasked as a pre- teenager, with keeping alive, a premature baby that the local Police brought to their door.
Her father quickly built an incubator and she spent all her time and attention taking care of and feeding that little baby, and through her determined efforts, the baby survived.
After graduating the University of Illinois, she moved to Boston where she met her loving husband, Richard N. Brown, of Winthrop, Mass.
They were married on December 11, 1965, and a couple of years later, had their first son, with three more to follow.
The family moved from Massachusetts to Sanbornton , NH in 1972 to raise the Family along the shores of beautiful Lake Winnesquam.
Carol and Richard were loving parents, and were very active in the local 4-H Club in Sanbornton, NH, for many years with the kids, with all the fairs, and our chickens.
In 1985 the family moved to Weirsdale, Florida to the winter home here.
Carol loved to travel and took all her boys back packing across Germany and Europe every summer, for many, many, years, with the most recentt trip in 2015.
The entire Family loved to travel and as a Family have been all over the USA, Europe, even China.
She particularly enjoyed traveling to Thailand, and meeting the wonderful people there, and riding elephants along many trails.
The entire family greatly enjoyed attending every 70th Infantry Division WW2 Veterans reunions, and trips back to Alsace-Lorriane battlefields in Franc,e where our Father fought, even meeting with and making peace with the actual Germans that they were fighting against, making lasting friendships.
Dad and Mom starting attending these reunions in 1977, and which still continue, even to this day.
She loved those reunions alongside her husband and kids, and the 70th Veterans, their wives and kids.
Carol worked in real estate and really enjoyed that in recent years.
She was a wonderful and beloved Mother and Wife.
She was raised Presbyterian, married in the Catholic Church, and attended Saint Timothy's in Lady Lake.
Father Ed gave her a flower on a past Mother's Day, that she really appreciated.
God gave us children, beautiful, loving parents, the best we could have ever hoped for, and they are sadly missed, until we meet again in Heaven in the arms of Jesus.
God gave her to us and we are so thankful to God.
God gave her, and us, a beautiful rainbow when leaving our home, just as he gave our beloved Father, a beautiful rainbow in 2012.
Surely a sign of God's Love and comfort for us all.
God Bless you Mom and Dad, and us all, forever .
Jesus is the Resurrection and our Lord and Savior.
She is survived by her four loving sons, Richard N. Brown, Raymond S. Brown, George E. Brown, and Robert A. Brown all of Weirsdale, Florida.
