As her only daughter my memories of her is how she told me over and over again how much she wanted a girl and she would not stop trying until she had one. My mother was larger than life; she had so much energy and would not settle for anything but the best in anything she did. She was from another time when dressing well was the norm and she passed on her love of fashion and decorating to me. My favorite times were when we went shopping. Many weekends throughout high school we would hit the Aventura Mall and make a day of shopping and dinner. She loved her grandchildren very much and was always bragging about them and spent as much time as she could even when we were in different city's and states to spend time with them. She was "Granny" and some of our last conversations were about them. She lived a long life and was very devoted to her religion.

Dear Queenie, I will miss our numerous conversations and listening to all the stories you told me about our family and how you changed my diapers when I was a baby. I still remember the songs you used to sing to me when putting me to bed. Rest in peace in the arms of Jesus and I know I will see you again. Love, Joni (sister)
