Please accept my condolences for the passing of Jay. I worked at the church and would see him on occasion to say hi. He was always upbeat and carried on a short conversation. I was impressed with all the work he and his wife did to help St Mark. I always felt good about having a few moments of conversation with him.

Maureen,
I am deeply saddened to hear about your loss of Jay. He became a friend to me in the short time I knew him and I looked forward to his council. I could read his heart. He had a good heart and a wonderful love for Mother Church as you do as well. I wonder if he is talking with St Peter about recommending some changes up there. You and your family are in my prayers. In Christ – Phil A.

Safely Home
I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over, every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever, Safely home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! but Jesus’ love illumined every dark and fearful glade.
And He came Himself to meet me In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus’ arm to lean on, Could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely, For I love you dearly still
Try to look beyond earth’s shadows, Pray to trust our Father’s Will.
There is work still waiting for you, So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth ÂYou shall rest in Jesus’ land.
When that work is all completed, He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!

We are so sad to have lost such a dear friend. Jay was a “one of a kind” man. He was always willing to do anything to serve the Lord, his Church, and his fellow man. Jay’s smile was like a ray of sunshine and he easily shared his laughter with those around him. His love and concern for his family was very obvious. Earth has lost a fabulous man and Heaven has gained a tender soul. May God bless Maureen and the family as they journey through this loss. With Love and Prayers,
Deacon John and Michel Rumplasch

Dear Maureen and Family,
Our hearts ache with sadness at the loss of our dear friend and Vincentian colleague and “mentor.” Jay was the essence of a true Catholic gentleman. He mentored Rita and me when we became part of the SVdP Thursday group. Jay was so smart and insightful, always trying to help those in need. May the Good Lord comfort you during this difficult time. Our prayers are with you, your daughters and family. Jay’s spirit and faith will continue to touch the entire St. Mark’s family God bless!.

Dear Maureen and cherished family, Jay was a touchstone for so many at St Mark. And one thing that stands out immediately when I think of him is his sense of humor.A wonderful gentleman in every sense of the word. Take care of one another as Jay/ dad watches over you all.
