Barbara Colosi

Obituary of Barbara Golden Colosi

Early on the morning of Saturday, May 23, 2020, heaven welcomed this lovely lady. We will remember her as a wonderful mother to Stephen and Scott, a fantastic mother-in-law to Scott’s wife, Elena, a loving grandmother to Dallas, Stephanie, Chris, Nick and Emily, and a proud great-grandmother to Emma, Beth, and Teddy. She loved her sister, Marie Livingston, and Jay Rosenfeld, her devoted nephew, very much.  She was also very grateful to have spent so much time with her sister since Barbara’s move to The Villages, Florida four years ago. Barbara loved collecting elephant art and loved dogs, especially her long time companion, Holly. She also thoroughly enjoyed interior design, home improvement shows, and old movies.

Barbara was born June 5, 1935, in Passaic, New Jersey to Morton and Martha (Golden) Rosenthal and moved to Miami, Florida at an early age. She graduated from Miami High in 1952 and earned a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Art History from the University of Miami in 1955. She spent most of her working career with Burger King Corporation in Miami, rising from Executive Assistant to Human Resources Manager. In addition, before her retirement, she worked several more years for The Wackenhut Corporation in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. She had an incredible passion for her career and her work ethic was second to none.

At Barbara’s request, no services will be held. If you would like to make a donation in Barbara’s honor, please consider the American Cancer Society or a local animal shelter of your choice.
