My brother Bobby and I were blessed to have met Mrs. Parr at the very beginning of our Villages journey. I am humbled to be able to say that she was a friend to me all through the 20 years I have been here thus far.
On a funny note, every time she would be so gracious to make me one of her world famous pies, it was supposed to be shared with the entire staff, but I guess today I should admit what she already knows. That is to say, the pie would go straight from the front door of the business, where she would be so gracious to drop it off, right out the back, to where I was parked. The staff was not happy with me, as they knew what was in the package. Oh well. I can't say I am regretful, but just trying to come clean. I know she is laughing, and saying in her very motherly voice, "I already knew Jay."
I always think of her with one word, "elegance."
She was in my humble opinion, the Barbara Bush of The Villages.
I know she is living on in our community through her grand kids.
Love Jay

On Thursday, January 31st, Jack and I spent another special night at Margie’s house for dinner and canasta.
Margie greeted us looking her beautiful self. While our special dinner warmed, Margie told us her very exciting
Details of her new house with Cindy and Charlie. We walked around talking about you would get her furniture and what she would take. Her excitement was so genuine. She also told how happy that Cindy was doing so well and her hair was so much darker. We then ate Margie’s requested Hawaiian pizza ( the best her ever had). Playing canasta, Margie favorite game, she was losing badly. Then we played our last hand and Margie beat us by 4,000 point. She kicked our butts! We left her beaming!! It will always be a very special night for us.Sorry we wouldn’t get our rematch.

To the family and friends of Marjorie. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to all of you for your loss. The death of a loved one is very difficult to accept and even harder to understand. However Jehovah the God of all comfort promises in Revelations 21:3,4 that soon death will be no more neither mourning nor outcry or pain the former things have passed away. May these words provide you with a measure of comfort now and in the days ahead.
