Obituary of James Bradley Wilkerson
Ocala - James Bradley Thornton Wilkerson, age 33, passed away on Sunday, November 2,
2008. Brad was born and raised in Ocala, graduating from Forest High School in 1993. With the
companionship and mentoring of his father, he developed a passion for golf at an early age, and
played on the varsity golf team. Upon graduation he attended the School of Business at Florida
State University where he was an active member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, providing
leadership in its pledgeship and social functions. Following college at FSU, Brad moved to
Orlando where he completed an apprenticeship program with the Edwin Watts Golf Company, later
moving to Atlanta where he managed the state of Georgia for the Oakley Optical Industry. He then
returned to Ocala and in September of 2000, married Nancy Scott of Ocala. He worked several years
with Triple Crown Homes prior to joining with Nancy in the operation and management of both Haylo
Trailers and Coast To Coast Truck and Trailers. Brad loved everything about life, traveling, his
hobbies, particularly golf, countless friends, and his family, especially Luke Scott Wilkerson,
Brad and Nancy's 4-year-old son. He will be remembered as a loyal and devoted father, husband,
and son who throughout life consistently displayed his charitable nature and generous heart
towards those he met and quickly befriended. Brad is survived by his son, Luke, his wife, Nancy,
her mother Susan Scott and her husband, Stanley, of Ocala, his parents, Lynda C. and Dr. James S.
Wilkerson of Ocala, and his sister, Ashli Marie Wilkerson of Orlando. He is predeceased by his
maternal grandparents, William and Kathleen Cambron of Louisville, Kentucky, and paternal
grandparents, Bill and Thelma Wilkerson of Charleston, West Virginia. Family and friends are
invited to attend a funeral service that will be held on Thursday, November 6, at 3:00 p.m. at
the main sanctuary of Living Waters Church on North 441, officiated by Father Don Curran of
Christ the King Anglican Church. A reception will immediately follow at Golden Ocala. For those
