Obituary of Marjorie Griggs
Marjorie Peebles Griggs GRIGGS, Marjorie Peebles Marjorie Peebles Griggs, 79, went to
Jesus, November 12, 2008 from her home in Silver Springs. Marjorie has been an example and
inspiration to so many with her loving words, gentle spirit, and strength of character. Favorite
things that Marjorie liked to do included cooking, traveling, fishing, reading, gardening,
spending time with the Lord in prayer, and spending time with family. She is survived by her
daughters Kathryn Sickling (Robert), Marjorie Hendon (Duane), Lisa Dreggors (Howard), and Julie
Sieg (Rodney), grandchildren Laura Perdomo, Susan Morden, Katie Sickling, Brian Sickling, Zachary
Sieg, and sister Lonnice Blanchard, brothers Douglas Peebles, Harold Peebles, and Alton Peebles.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Carlos L. Griggs, December 20, 2001. Marjorie was a
native of Marion County and taught in the Marion County School System at East Marion Elementary
School for 26 years. Prior to returning to her birthplace in Marion County, Marjorie lived with
her first husband, Charles Hospodar, and family in Port au Prince, Haiti and Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.
A Funeral Service, celebrating her life, will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, November 17, 2008, at
Ocklawaha Bridge Baptist Church where she was a member. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made to CFCC Foundation, Griggs Nursing Scholarship, PO Box 1388, Ocala, FL
34478-1388.
