Obituary of George Finstrom

George Finstrom was born in New York September 7,1933 and passed away on Sunday November 16, 2008 at the West Marion Community Hospital. George was a loving husband to Maeve (Doherty) Finstrom for over 40 years until her death in January, 2006. After spending a lifetime in the northeast, they chose to retire in Ocala, Florida in 1997. They were inseparable and enjoyed their time together with friends, taking cruises and attending local cultural events. After Maeve's passing, George continued to live a fulfilling life at the Hampton Manor Gardens Assisted Living. There he served as President of the Resident Council and wrote numerous stories for the Hampton Manor newsletter. In addition, George was an avid reader and history buff with a passion for creating beautiful model ships and boats. George was preceded in death by his wife Maeve and will be missed by his surviving numerous nieces, nephews and former sister-in-law Joan Doherty.
