Obituary of Gerald Tassa

TASSA, Gerald Andrew Ocala, Gerald A. Tassa, age 90, passed away November 18, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Italy, March 28, 1918. He served in the US Navy reserve. Gerald retired as a 1st Lieutenant from the Washington DC Fire Department after serving 27 years, and moved to Ocala in 1981. He was a member of the Retired Fire Fighters Association, Chapter #812, Washington, DC, the Sons of Italy, George Washington Lodge #2038, and the Moose Lodge #1199, of Silver Springs, Fl. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ruth G., son Gerald M. Tassa, Cumming, GA., Daughters Adelaide C. Racha, Utica, NY, Connie D. Coolick, Woodbridge, VA, nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Proceeded in death by daughter Patricia L. Tassa. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 - 6:00 PM, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL.
