Obituary of Betty Morris

MORRIS, BETTY E. Ocala - Betty E. Morris, 80, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008. She was a native and lifetime resident of Ocala and graduated from Ocala High School in 1946. She was a member of Woodside Baptist Church and retired from the Marion County Tax Collector's Office after 25 years of service. Before that, she was employed by Dixie Lime and Stone for 15 years. She is survived by her daughters, Eileen M. Girard and Julia M. (Didee) Childers both of Ocala, her sons, Bruce A. Morris of Ocala and Wayne Morris of Cocoa Beach, her brother, Buck East of Seattle, WA, her five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn E. and Susie Riley East, her son, Jerry L. Morris, her sisters, Patsy and Beth East and her brother, Riley East. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala with Rev. Art Hoff officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday at 10:00 A.M. Donations may be made to Hospice of Marion County.
