Obituary of Richard Woodacre

Richard Woodacre, 88, passed away on December 14, 2008 at Legacy Hospice House in Ocala, FL. Mr. Woodacre moved from Waterbury, CT to Ocala in 2003. He enjoyed Big Band music, sailing, golfing, and investing. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the South Pacific during WWII and a life member of VFW Angela Santos Post #4781 of Ocala. Mr. Woodacre retired from Scovill Manufacturing after 30 years working as a production manager. He leaves behind his son, Craig Woodacre, of Ocala, FL; a daughter Robin Matthews and husband Jim of Manchester, CT.; three grandchildren Cristina Piller of Twenty Nine Palms, Ca.; Lisa Woodacre of Ocala, Fl.; and Aylene Matthews of Manchester, Ct.; one great grandchild Tristan Woodacre of Ocala, Fl. Memorial Service for Mr. Woodacre will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services - TimberRidge Chapel, 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 4:00 PM with Pastor Mark Trout officiating. Military Honors will be provided by Angela Santos Post #4781.
