Obituary of Ada G. Causey
The world lost a saint, but heaven gained an angel with the arrival of Ada G. Causey who
left this life on December 19th, 2008. Born February 28th, 1920 in Harlan, Kentucky to Maude and
John Gross. She married James G. Causey Sr. and to them was born five children. Her life's
greatest joy was raising her children and spending many joyous moments making memories with her
family. She graduated from Eastern Kentucky State College with a Master's Degree in Education,
and was proud to have taught elementary school children for over thirty years. She was generous
as she was always doing or giving to others. She loved to travel, and have new experiences in
life. There is a little cabin in Kentucky that always held a special place in her heart. Today
her spirit is free to walk there. Ada leaves her memories with her children and their spouses
Daughters: Billie Jean (deceased) and Buddy Oxendine, Pat Lereaux, Dottie and Bob Oglesby (all of
Marion County) Terri and Lawson Hopper (Cullowhee, N.C.) Son: James and Brenda Causey (Lake Park,
Ga). To her family were added sixteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and three
great-great-grandchildren. Ada's main purpose in life was to serve the Lord. This commitment
provided her with strength, guidance, and love throughout her life.. In turn she reflected this
to all that she met. She shared the spirit of the Lord wanting all to know His love. In her final
hours she spoke the words she loved the most "JESUS, JESUS." Mother, Mom, Nana you will be
tenderly and lovingly missed. A visitation will take place at Hiers - Baxley Funeral Services,
910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL on Sunday, December 21, 2008 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. A funeral
service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 22, at 2:30pm. Interment will follow
at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Ocala, FL.
