Obituary of Herbert Harper
Herbert Howard Harper, Jr., 73, passed away on January 6, 2009 at his daughter's home in
Summerfield, FL. He was born on July 6, 1935 in Miami, FL and moved to Ocklawaha, FL in 1974. He
proudly served his country in the US Army for 2 years and was employed by Bell South Corp. for
over 35 years. Herbert was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed boating/fishing, traveling cross
country in his 5th Wheel RV and rooting for his favorite football team, the Miami Dolphins!
Herbert was happily married to his high school sweetheart: Elaine Thomas for 46 years. He is
survived by his loving daughters: Cynthia L. Harper of Ocklawaha and Pamela J. Falk of
Summerfield and brother William G. Harper of Suwannee, GA; three grandchildren: Andy and Nacole
Fockler of Ocklawaha and Jennifer Falk of Ocala; three great grandchildren: Cody, DaySha and
Bailey and his two fun-loving dogs: Teddy and Tracey. He was preceded in death by his wife and
brother Bradford Harper. Everyone loved Herbert's infectious sense of humor. He will be
remembered as a truly remarkable human being who was sensitive, loving, witty, comical and
easy-going.
