Obituary of Flora M. Gale
Flora M. Gale, 82, died January 15, 2009 at Munroe Regional Medical Center. She was a
native of Winter Garden, FL. Her daughter, Debra, owns Rainbow Bible and Book Store and she and
Flora started the store together in November 1980 where Flora co-managed the store with her for
28 years. Donald Gale, husband and father, worked with them. Mrs. Gale managed the Thriftway
Shopping Center, Belleview, from 1978 to 1998. She was an excellent business woman because of the
talents God gave her and she listened to God’s direction. In 1975, along with her family, Mrs.
Gale started the Unity Church of Ocala. She was a registered nurse working in about eight
different hospitals including Munroe Hospital in the early 50’s. She was the night supervisor
of nurses at West Orange Memorial upon retirement in 1968. She was a member of the Humane Society
of Marion County. She loved God, serving God, and serving her fellow man. She loved animals,
especially her pets, and enjoyed reading Christian novels and loved just being with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra G. Read, Ocala; brother, Jefferson P. (Jane) Voss,
Oakland, FL: sister, Oveda Heller, St. Petersburg, FL, and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gale was
preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. Gale.
