Obituary of Ernest Rosenstock
Rosenstock, Ernest F. 78 Ernest F. Rosenstock, passed away January 17th at TimberRidge
Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Ernest grew up in Ridgewood Queens, where he met his
wife of 57 years, Doris Kerler Rosenstock. Ernest was a decorated veteran of the Korean War,
serving combat missions as a B-29 radar operator in the 30th Bomb Squadron of the Army Air Corps.
He worked for 37 years in the defense industry in New York, including Loral Electronics where he
was Vice President of Engineering, and Sperry / Unisys where he was Director of Compensation.
Ernest was educated at Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute and received a postgraduate degree from
Harvard Business School. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Ernie was known for
his devotion to family, his love of this country, and a wonderful sense of humor delivered with
his deep booming voice. Survived by his loving wife Doris, a son E. Michael Rosenstock and his
wife Karen of Baldwin, NY; daughter Christine Olsen and her husband Kris of Loveland, OH; and
daughter Caroline Hall and her husband Tim of Atlanta; plus nine grandchildren and one great
grandson. Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 3:00 PM with Dr. Raymond
Waite officiating at Hiers-Baxley TimberRidge, 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala, FL. Visitation will be
from 1:00 - 3:00 PM prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research
Foundation in memory of Ernest F. Rosenstock.
