Obituary of Richard Saundry

Ricard William "Rick" Saundry, Sr., age 73, of Lady Lake died Wednesday, January 28, 2009. He was born in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey and moved to Lady Lake from California in 2002. He retired from the US Navy and Seabees after 27 years, serving as Chief Petty Officer. He was of the Catholic faith, a member of the American Legion Post #347 of Lady Lake, Life member VFW Post 10126 Lady Lake, DAV California Chapter, Ben Ali Shrine, Sacramento, CA, Scottish Rite Body, Table Mountain Masonic Lodge #124, CA, and The Villages Shrine Club. Survivors include his companion Gayla Sager, Lady Lake; his three sons Richard William Saundry, Jr., Joseph Howard Saundry, of Lumberton, MS; and Scott Michael Saundry of Saucier, MS; his daughter Sharon Lynn Pavlicek of Ocala; a brother Howard Joseph Saundry, Jr. of Whiting, NJ; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sister. Visitation will be 9:00am to 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Service in The Villages. Military honor will follow 12:30 pm, at Florida National Cemetery.
