Obituary of Dora Lillian Angel
ANGEL, LILLIAN Astor - Lillian Angel, 84, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009. She was
born in South Boston, VA and was employed with the City of Ocala for many years. She was the
Chief Accountant for the City Finance Dept. and started the first credit union for city
employees. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Astor, the Astor Community Assn., the DAV
Auxillary and was instrumental in getting the roads paved in Astor. She enjoyed sewing, cake
decorating, cooking and being with her family. She is survived by her sons, Judge Carven D. Angel
and wife Gloria of Ocala and Tommy Angel and wife Shirley of Astor, her brothers, Jerry and
Fredrick Wilburn both of Raleigh, NC, her five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Angel in 1995. Funeral services will be on
Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009 at 4:00 P.M. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs
Blvd., Ocala with Rev. Terry Holland officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 PM.
Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial
donations to First Baptist Church, PO Box 280, Astor, FL 32102.
