Obituary of John Schemear

John J. Schemear, age 69, of Ocala, FL passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2009. He was born in Stamford, CT on April 20, 1939. John joined the US Army and served 4 years. After returning to the States he found employment with Arnold Bakery in Connecticut. He met and married Mary Robinson. Together they raised one son Donald and resided in Fort Lauderdale, FL where he worked as a Captain on private charter boats. He eventually relocated to Ocala where he worked for KWI and eventually owned and operated his own business named "The Sharpest Man in Town" which served the Equine industry. John was a Catholic. He is survived by his son Donald Smith of Shelton, CT; sister Lorraine Schemear of Ocala; and 3 grandchildren Samantha, Michael and Shawn. John was predeceased by his wife Mary Schemear who passed away in 2004. A memorial service for John will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2009, 10:00am at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Marion Unit, 2201 SE 30th Ave, Suite #301, Ocala, FL 34471.
