Obituary of John Harris

HARRIS, John C., Jr. Mr. John C. Harris, Jr. 72, of Ocala, died Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at Estelle's Hospice House. A native of Spindale, NC, he moved to Ocala in 1994 from Sanford, NC. He had retired as an administrator with the NC Department of Correction. He is survived by his wife, the former Jane Cook of Lexington, sons John Harris, III of Brevard, NC, and Henry Timothy Harris, Spring Lake, NC, step-daughters Catherine Chipman of Spencer, NC, and Holly Morgan, Randleman, NC, sisters Marie Henson, Stanley, NC, Mildred Freeman, Chester, VA, Maye Pruett, Spindale, NC, Faye Reep, Troutman, NC, 2 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 2 great grandchildren, and 2 step grandchildren, and 4 step-great grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his stepson Stephen Morgan, and his sister Louise Lowdermilk. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County, PO Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478.
