Obituary of Blanche Brown

Blanche E. Brown, married for 60 years to the late Max R. Brown, Jr., passed away Monday, February 16, 2009. Mrs. Brown was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Ocala in 1985. She was a Eucharistic Minister for ten years in the Brooklyn Diocese before moving to Florida where she continued her ministry at Queen of Peace Catholic Church until emergency open heart surgery in 1998. She was a past member of the Catholic Council of Women. A retired executive secretary and insurance broker, she was the loving aunt of Celeste D'Errico Abler, Geralyn, Joanne and Gerard Cargulia, Andrea, Christine, Matthew, Christopher D'Errico and Maria Holmes, Great Aunt to Christian and Vincent Abler, Emily and Adam Holmes, and many Brown family nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Max (2006) and Brother Dr. Francis J. D'Errico (1980). Visitation will be Wednesday, February 18, 2009 from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services TimberRidge, 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala. Mass of the Resurrection will be Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 8:30 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, SR 200, Ocala. In lieu of flowers Mass cards or donations to Hospice of Marion County, PO Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478-4860 are greatly appreciated. Interment will be private.
