Obituary of Verton Gay

GAY, VERTON E. Ocala - Verton E. Gay, age 81, passed away on Monday, Feb. 16, 2009 at Hospice Sylvia's House. Verton was born in Ocala to Fred Sawyer Gay & Lenore Colby Gay. He graduated from Ocala High School and the University of Florida and was a big Gator fan. Verton was a veteran having served in the 82nd Airborne Glider Division during WWII. He was a photographer and General Manager of Jim Jernigan's Studio, a member and usher of the First United Methodist Church and the Friendly Fellowship Class. He is survived by his wife , Lucy Jernigan Gay and a daughter, LuAnne Gay, brother, Francis S. Gay and sister, Joyce(Benny) Mainer all of Ocala as well as nieces and nephews.
