Obituary of Arthur Lavender
LAVENDER, ARTHUR FREDERICK Ocala â€" Arthur Frederick Lavender, 88, passed away on
Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009. He was a retired Captain in the U.S. Air Force, serving his country in
WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of McCullough-Mixson VFW Post No. 4209, the American
Legion and St. Marks United Methodist Church. He moved to Ocala from Spring City, TN twenty years
ago. He is survived by his loving wife, Etta Lee Lavender of Ocala, his daughter, Alice Faye Fenn
and her husband Michael of Orlando, his sons, Larry Wayne Lavender and his wife Betty of
Stockbridge, GA and Charles Lavender and his wife Vera of Ocala, his four grandchildren and nine
great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sara Lavender. Funeral services
will be on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver
Springs Blvd., Ocala with Pastor Art Hoff and Chaplain Dewey Lee officiating. Burial will be at
Florida National Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 PM. In
lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Marion County.
