Obituary of Charles Hemminger
Hemminger, Charles Roy 80 Charles Roy Hemminger, 80, passed away on April 22, 2009 at
TimberRidge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Ocala, FL. Mr. Hemminger was born in
Buffalo, NY. Charles was a self employed carpenter and a real estate maintenance supervisor. Mr.
Hemminger was also a builder for the Davies Real Estate Co. in Falls Church, VA. He moved from
Arlington, VA to Ocala in 1991. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Charles served
as a Eucharistic Minister, Minister to the Sick, and a volunteer landscape helper at the church.
Mr. Hemminger was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Arlington, VA., the 15th Constabulary
Squadron Retirees (Army), and Merchant Marine Retirees. His hobbies included gardening,
constructing bird houses, and collecting Christmas Village pieces. His greatest enjoyment in life
was traveling, camping, and his dogs. He was most proud of his 4 years of military experiences in
Germany, and keeping the peace with the 15th Constabulary Squadron. He is survived by his wife of
57 years, Elizabeth (Betty) of Ocala; daughter Nan Hemminger and companion Danny of Belleview;
his sons, Mark Hemminger and wife Judy of Roanoke, VA., Matthew Hemminger of Ashburn, VA., John
Hemminger and wife Linda of Raleigh, NC; 6 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. Several
nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, April 26, 2009 from 2:00-5:00 PM with prayers at
4:00 pm at Hiers-Baxley TimberRidge Chapel 9695 S.W. 110th St. Funeral Mass will be Monday April
27, 2009 at 8:30 AM. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church SR 200 with Father Patrick J. O'Doherty
officiating. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fl. with Military Honors
