Obituary of Robert Young

YOUNG, ROBERT JOSEPH Ocala - Robert Joseph Young, 65, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Shands in Gainesville. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and moved to the Ocala area in 1976. He was a financial planner and State Vice President for Banker's Life. In 1995 he established and operated Pest Defense of Florida until 2004. He was Operations Manager for The Lion Heart Co. from 2005 to 2008. He was past president of Ocala Life Underwriters and General Agents and Managers Association of Florida. He was a member of the National Life Underwriters, Marion County Homebuilders Assn. and served on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed the 50's music, wrote songs, was an avid Gator fan, loved restoring old cars and gardening. He also served his country in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife, Joan of Ocala, his sister, Cathy Natale of Lakeland, his brothers, Harry Young of Toms River, NJ and Richard Young of Lumberton, NJ, his sons, Pete LiBardoni and wife Lee of Palm City and Steve LiBardoni and wife Sharon of Ocala, his daughter, Lorraine Trulock of Oviedo and his five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 2:00 PM at First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Drexel Brunson officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
