Obituary of George Henry

Henry, Dr. George A., 69 Dr. George A. Henry, 69 of Hernando, Florida passed away May 22, 2009 at TimberRidge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where he had become a much loved patient. Dr. Henry was born June 3, 1939 in Pedro Plains, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica the son of Bernard A. and Jemima Blair Henry. He was the Director of Research and Development for Sara Lee Bakery and Kraft Foods, where he worked for 20 years. Dr. Henry was a member of the American Chemical Society and the American Food Chemists Society holding several patents in Lipid Sciences. Dr. Henry moved from Chicago to Hernando, FL in 2002. George was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church in Lecanto and St. Augustine's Episcopal Church in Wilmette, IL. George was an avid cricket, football and basketball fan. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dr. Caroll Henry; daughter, Heather Henry of Savannah, GA; sons, Robert Henry of Evanston, IL; Dr. Peter Henry of Stanford, CA; Andrew Henry of San Francisco, CA; sisters, Nicolette Henry of Bull Savannah, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica; and Cecile Chapman of Queens, NY; 8 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on June 20, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Pedro Plains, Jamaica, W.I.
