Obituary of James Williams
J. Larry Williams, age 63, of Silver Springs, FL passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at
his residence. He was born in Clearwater, FL on July 11, 1945. After graduating from High School
in Tarpon Springs, FL he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and retired after serving 20 years. Larry was
a Vietnam Veteran. After serving in the military he became the owner/operator of Deep End Pool
Service. Larry was a member of Ocklawaha Bridge Baptist Church. He was very active with the
Veterans of Foreign Wars having served in several positions including Commander of District # 22
on two occasions and was recently appointed Department Chairman for Patriot's Pen. He was a
member of VFW Post # 10733 of Orange Lake. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and NASCAR
racing. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Bonnie Williams; brother Harry Williams; sister
Verdelia Scott; sister Mildred Patrick; sister Carolyn Jones; and several nephews, nieces and
cousins. A funeral service will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs
Blvd, Ocala, FL on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 11:00am. Visitation will be held on the day of the
service from 10:00am until the time of the service at 11:00am. Interment with military honors
will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to Hospice of Marion County, PO Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478.
