Obituary of John Field

FIELD, SR., JOHN A. (JACK) Ocala - John A. (Jack) Field, Sr., 92, formerly of Miami Springs, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Sylvia’s Hospice House. He was born in Chillicothe, MO to the late George and Melba Field. He served as a Captain with the U.S. Army Signal Corps during WWII. He retired from the FAA after 37 years of service. He was a member of the Elks, the Moose, McCullough-Mixson V.F.W. Post 4209, American Legion Post 284, NARF Chapter 39 and the Silver Springs Radio Club. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara A. Field of Ocala, his son, John A. Field, Jr. of Ocala, his daughter, Janice L. Lewis of Sacramento, CA, his sister and brother-in-law, Wilda and Jack Gratz and nephews, Bruce, Wayne and Kevin Gratz. Graveside services will be on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Marion County.
