Obituary of James Krantz

James William Krantz James William"Sonny" Krantz, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2009. He was the husband of Jean Atchison Krantz. They were married November 30, 1963. Born April 28, 1935, in Frederick, MD, he was the son of William Henry Summers (Mike) Krantz and Clara Mae Hardman Fultz, both deceased. Sonny loved sports, especially if there was a ball involved. He was an outstanding football player and track star while attending Frederick High School. He attended Westminster College, then enlisted in the Air Force, where he became an air traffic controller at Washington National Airport in Washington, DC and then later at Miami International. Sonny will be lovingly remembered for his wit, dancing, singing karaoke, Del Webb softball, and walking his dog KC. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jean, son Lon J. Krantz, two daughters; Debbi Breeding (Bruce) and Kathy Hart (Jeff), and their children Lauren, Michael and Courtney, grandson Michael Shaw, son of Judy Krantz who preceded her father in death in 2006, and 1 great grandson. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, with Rev. Darren Bess officiating.
