Obituary of Virgil E. Weldon

Mr. Virgil E. Weldon, 78, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009 at The Villages Regional Hospital. He was born in Empire, Alabama and moved to Summerfield from Dora, Alabama 2 1/2 years ago. He retired from the United States Army after 22 years of service where he fought in the Korean Conflict and 2 tours of Viet Nam. He then spent 19 years as a Supervisor for Fairfax County, VA. Mr. Weldon loved fishing. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rose Marie, Summerfiled, 3 sons, Martin H. Weldon, Jacksonville, Ala., Robert L. Weldon, Harrisburg, Va., and Richard D. Weldon, Summerfield, FL., 1 brother, Jimmy Weldon, Empire, Ala., 2 sisters, Irene Wilson, Jasper, Ala., and Opal Smith, Dora, Ala., 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
