Obituary of Linda Supplee
SUPPLEE, Linda L. Linda L. Supplee passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009 at her residence
in Ocala. She was born in 1942 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Ernest Smith and Frances Weeks.
Linda moved to Ocala from Atlanta in 1992. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church,
and she served on various committees for the Historic Ocala Preservation Society. Linda had a
diverse and successful career in sales, operations management, and real estate with various
corporations including Rexnord, BFI and Pulte Homes. She enjoyed traveling, reading novels,
decorating and gardening. Linda was a wonderful wife, loving mother, dear sister, and good
friend. Linda is survived by her husband Carl, of Ocala, four children, Cheri Williams of Ocala,
Terri Rossi of Peoria, AZ, Tina Brown of Estero, FL, and Jim Williams of Carrier, MS; sister
Cheryl Holbert of Pensacola; brother Richard Smith of Sylvester, GA; six grandchildren; six step
children, Michele McCorkle of Alpharetta, GA, Denise Hulen of Loganville, GA, Suzette Myers of
Atlanta, Jeanine Melbye and Michael Supplee, both of Dallas, TX, John Supplee of Plano, TX; and
eight step grandchildren. A Gathering of Friends will be held from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, July 21,
2009, at The Appleton Museum of Art, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala. A prayer service led by
Father Patrick O'Doherty and eulogies will begin at 5 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at
8:30 Wednesday, July 22 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 6455 State Road 200, Ocala, with
Father O'Doherty officiating. Interment will follow at the Florida National Cemetery, Interstate
75 south, exit 309, where Dr. Raymond Waite will conduct the committal service. Hiers-Baxley
Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd., is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers,
