Obituary of DeLeon Dias

DeLeon Dias, age 64, of Ocala, FL passed away on Friday, July 17, 2009. He was born in Ocala, FL on January 28, 1945. He joined the U.S. Marines and served four years during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Dias was a bronze star recipient. After his military service he returned to Ocala and found employment as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and worked 28 years for Ring Power. He also met and married Charlotte Smith. They were married for 33 years and together raised two children. Mr. Dias was a Baptist. His hobbies included travel, and deep sea fishing. He is survived by his wife Charlotte; daughter Amy Brown and her husband Corey; son Alvin Dias and his wife Melissa; brothers John Henry Dias and John Allen Dias. He was pre deceased by a sister Janice Smith. A visitation for Mr. Dias will take place at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala on Monday, July 20, from 6:00 - 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held at Oak-Griner Baptist Church, 6422 NE Jacksonville Rd, Ocala on Tuesday, July 21 at 11:00am. Interment will take place at Simmons Full Gospel Cemetery, Citra, FL.
