Obituary of Claire F. Choiniere

Claire F. Choiniere passed away peacefully with family at her side on July 21, 2009 in Ocala, FL. She was born in Grandby, Quebec, Canada and moved to this area from Franklin, VT in 1979. In her early years, Claire was a teacher in Canada and married Jacques on August 5, 1941, in Sweetsburg, Quebec. They moved to Vermont in 1945 to begin farming. She enjoyed farming and particularly loved sugaring season. She also loved gardening and considered these as just part of the work of a farmer's wife. Claire was a talented seamstress and was always knitting; she enjoyed creating clothing and knit items for others. Claire took pleasure in family gatherings and playing cards. They retired to Florida in 1979 and were active in their church, seeing the construction of St. Jude Catholic Church in Marion Oaks. They were loyal members of this church and received a service award in 1997. Claire was always generous, giving to others, before considering herself. She was predeceased by her husband Jacques, and all her siblings. Claire was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her two children Jacqueline and Alain, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was greatly loved and will be missed by us all. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Vermont.
