Obituary of Thomas T. Knerr

Thomas Trumbauer Knerr, 87, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, July 24, 2009. He was born in Allentown, PA on November 12, 1921. After serving in the United States Army during WW II, he moved to Weirsdale in 1947. He was owner of Knerr's Garage, Weirsdale from 1947 to 1962; president of the Associated Fruit Packers, Ocklawaha from 1962 to 2003; member and former Elder of Weirsdale Presbyterian Church; member of Ocala Shrine Club and founder of their motorcycle unit; member of Belleview Masonic Lodge 95 for 60 years; and member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Club. Survivors include his wife, Louise; daughter, Priscilla Wimberly, Summerfield; brother, Richard Knerr, NC; sister, Harriett Heffner, PA; grandchildren Dawn Lovell, Ocala, Brian Wimberly, Winter Park; 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
