Obituary of Channing Gerber

Channing Albert Gerber, 72, passed away at his residence on July 27, 2009. Mr. Gerber was born in Syracuse, NY to Carl Gerber and Amelia (Thorn) Gerber. He moved from Oswego, NY to Ocala 15 years ago. Mr. Gerber is a retired Nuclear Supervisor, founder of the Flight Simulator Club, volunteer with Marion County Sheriff's Office Funeral Escort, and a volunteer at MRMC. Mr. Gerber is survived by his loving wife, Carmen Gerber of Ocala, FL; a daughter and son in law, Lisa and Adam Schmitt of Clarksville, TN; a son and daughter in law, Channing "Chip" and Lorena Gerber of Pearl City, Hawaii; mother-in-law, Julia Rodriguez, of Ocala, FL; and 5 grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, August 3, 2009 from 12:30 - 1:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley TimberRidge Chapel, 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala with a memorial service following at 1:00 PM.
