Obituary of Norvelle Salisbury
SALISBURY, Norvelle Mr. Norvelle Salisbury, 93, of Ocklawaha, died Tuesday, July 28,
2009 at his residence. A native of Widen, West Virginia, he moved to Ocklawaha in 1996, coming
here from Akron, Ohio. He retired from the Mohawk Rubber Company after more than 30 years
service. His memberships include the Ocklawaha Moose Lodge #3525, the Fraternal Order of Eagles
#4216, and the United Rubber Workers. Mr. Salisbury was a Protestant, and was also an avid
fisherman and hunter. He is survived by his wife Avanelle “Betty†Salisbury, sons Norvel
“Jerry†Salisbury and wife Patti Rossi of Akron and James Salisbury and his wife Betty of Mt.
Dora, sister Mabel Radcliff of Akron, 4 grandchildren 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great
grandson. He was also survived by his ste-children, David, Larry, Mark, Mike and Becky Ellington
who greatly admired and respected him. He was preceded in death by his first wife Ardith
“Sally†Robinson and a step-son, Kevin Ellington. Memorial services will be held at 2 PM
Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge, 16270 E. Hwy 40, Silver Springs,
Fl. with Mr. and Mrs. Al Hawley officiating. Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs
Blvd, Ocala, handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
