Obituary of William McVey
McVEY, William E. Mr. William E. "Billy" McVey, 63, of Ocala, died Friday, August 14,
2009 at his residence. A native of West Virginia, he moved to Ocala in 1959. He is known by many
from his job at the Kangaroo Store, formerly Handy Way, at the corner of NE 49th Street and 200A
(old 301). Billy served his country with the US Army in Viet Nam. He is survived by his 2
sisters, Hulda Sue Crumb of Ocklawaha and Terri McVey Richards of DeLand, and 4 brothers James
McVey, Ocala, Ray McVey, Belleview, Michael McVey, Ocala, and Neal McVey, Ocala, and many nieces
and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Pauline McVey, and his brother
Raymond C. McVey, Jr. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at
Highland Memorial Park, 1515 NE 3rd St., Ocala, with Military Honors. Visitation will be from 5-7
PM Monday at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala.
