Obituary of Gloria Luchenbill
Gloria Votsis Luchenbill, 83, joined her parents, John and Anna Votsis, her brother
James Votsis and her sisters, Harriett Votsis and Joan Curtis in eternal happiness on Wednesday,
September 16, 2009 after a hopeless battle with Dementia. She is survived by her loving husband
of 53 years Phillip D. Luchenbill, Ocala, FL; her cherished twin sister, Connee Bayetis,
Hackensack, NJ; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. We loved her very much and she will be
sadly missed. Gloria was proud of her Greek heritage. She enjoyed traveling the world and loved
coordinating special events; among them being the Centennial Celebration of the Del Coronado
Hotel and the 100 Year Anniversary of France accepting the Statue of Liberty from the United
States. Gloria's most fulfilling time came, when she created, edited and was public
relations director for the Annual Thalian Ball Magazine for 15 years. She also designed A Special
Gala Tribute to Cary Grant. Her special accomplishment was writing the screenplay Krimsov for the
Stein Production Company. She was a member of the Screen Writers Guild and member The Thalians.
Gloria not only was a free lance writer but also; Sr. VP of Rogers and Cowan Public Relations
Inc., staff writer for Golf Digest, publicist for numerous television productions and editor of
several fan magazines. Her friends were many, among them; Jody and Joe Micilcavage, June Allyson,
Gloria DeHaven, Rita Hayworth, Ruta Lee, Hal Linden, Ann Miller, Debbie Reynolds, Lana Turner,
Robert Wagner and Esther Williams. The family wishes to thank Marion County Hospice and the many
caring people who were by her side during her illness. A Funeral Service will be held at
Fellowship Baptist Church, Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 3:00 PM. Burial will be immediately
following the service in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be
