Obituary of Douglas Owens

Douglas John "Doug" Owens, age 53, of Ocala, FL passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2009. He was born in Macoupin County, IL on January 9, 1956. Doug was raised in Illinois and moved to Florida 25 years ago with his family. He worked for Ocala Specialty Hardware, Inc. as an Installer for 25 years. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, golfing and cooking. Doug is survived by his wife of 25 years Kathleen Owens of Ocala; son Thomas Stanfield and his wife Serenity of Ocala; son Joseph Stanfield and his wife Vanessa of Ocala; son Dan Tye Stanfield and his wife Luciana of Winter Garden, FL; mother Marjorie Owens of IL; brother Greg Owens of IL; sisters Kathy Kessler and Vicki Andrew both of IL; grandchildren Madison, Alison, Speed, DJ, Aidan, Jed and Isabella. He was preceded in death by his father Orville "Rip" Owens, his sister Patricia Georges and a grandson Alex. A visitation will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala on Saturday, September 26, 2009 from 3:00pm until 5:00pm followed by a celebration of life held at the Ocala Shrine Club 4301 SE Maricamp Rd Ocala, FL 34480.
