Obituary of Matthew Connolly
Matthew Christopher Connolly, 84, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Palm
Gardens of Ocala. Mr. Connolly was born in New York, NY to the late John and Mary Connolly. He
was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. Mr. Connelly retired from Con Edison of NY as
a foreman in the Red Wagon Division. He moved from Monroe, NY in 1989. He was a member of the
Queen of Peace Catholic Church, OTOW Men's Softball Team, and an avid N.Y. sports fan (Giants and
Mets). Mr. Connolly leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Anne Connolly of Ocala; six sons,
Stephen Connolly and wife Karen of San Diego, CA; Dennis Connolly of Ocala; Matthew Connolly and
wife Pamela of Monroe, NY; Michael Connolly of Denver, CO; Daniel Connolly and wife Miriam of
Apopka, FL; and John Connolly and wife Mary of Parker, CO; three daughters, Annemarie Connolly of
Evergreen, CO; Cathleen Brown and husband Ken of Monroe, N.Y.; and Christine Fabian and husband
Marty of Hamilton, NJ; 16 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his
daughter, Rosemary Connolly in 1958. Funeral Mass for Mr. Connolly will be Thursday, October 22,
2009 at 8:30 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church SR200 with Father Patrick J. O'Doherty
officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday October 21, 2009 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley
TimberRidge Chapel 9695 SW 110th St. with a Prayer Service at 5:00 PM with Dr. Raymond Waite.
