Obituary of William Heck
HECK, WILLIAM JOHN Ocala - William John Heck, 86, passed away on Oct. 27, 2009 at
Tuscany Hospice House in Summerfield. Bill was born on June 20, 1923 in Newark, NJ. He left NJ in
1940 when he joined the Army. In 1941 he joined the Navy and served in the South Pacific. In 1945
he married Elizabeth Richardson from Prichard, AL. They had three daughters. Bill worked as a
jeweler in Prichard and eventually owned his own jewelry store. He and his family moved to NJ in
1962 where he built vacation homes in the Poconos. In 1978 they moved to Ocala where he owned and
operated a car wash and later a Jiffy Lube. He was a Mason and Shriner in Mobile, AL. He is
survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth, his three daughters, Jan Wheless and her husband,
Bob of NC, Sally Ball and her husband, John of Melbourne, FL and Patty Heck of Ocala. He is also
survived by two grandsons, Joseph Kinnarney and his wife Sarah and Jeffrey Kinnarney all of NC.
He had one great grandson, Leo Kinnarney. Bill is also survived by two brothers, Richard and
Robert Heck. A memorial service will be held at Ft. King Presbyterian Church at 4:00 P.M. on
Friday, Oct. 30, 2009. There will be a reception at the church following the service. The family
will receive visitors at their home after the reception. The burial will be at Florida National
Cemetery in Bushnell at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that contributions
be made to Ft. King Presbyterian Church or to the Alzheimer's Assn. Arrangements by Hiers-Baxley
